7月2日至5日,蓝教授主讲了以"First-order and Stochastic Optimization Methods"为主题的系列课程。课程内容分为三个循序渐进的模块:第一部分重点讲解确定性一阶方法及其在凸随机优化中的应用,涵盖随机梯度下降、镜像下降法、加速算法以及方差缩减技术等基础内容;第二部分深入探讨非凸优化问题,详细解析非凸一阶与零阶方法、加速技巧以及方差控制策略;第三部分则聚焦前沿的无参数方法研究,包括凸与非凸场景下的最优性理论以及投影梯度法的自适应条件调整技术。课程内容既注重理论基础,又强调实际应用,为师生们指明了相关领域的前沿研究方向。

附:蓝光辉教授简介
Guanghui (George) Lan is an A. Russell Chandler III Chair and Professor in the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Lan’s research interests lie in theory, algorithms, and applications of stochastic optimization and nonlinear programming. Most of his current research concerns the design of efficient algorithms for solving challenging optimization problems.
Dr. Lan is actively pursuing the application of stochastic and nonlinear optimization models/algorithms in machine learning/intelligence.
Dr. Lan received his Ph.D. degree from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2009, one master’s degree from University of Louisville in 2004, another master’s degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 1999, and a bachelor degree from Xiangtan University in 1996. His academic honors include an INFORMS Frederick W. Lanchester Prize (2023), INFORMS Computing Society Prize (2022), NSF CAREER Award (2013), first place in the INFORMS JFIG Paper Competition (2012), finalist in the Mathematical Optimization Society Tucker Prize (2012), second place in the INFORMS George Nicholson prize (2008), and first place in the INFORMS Computing Society Student Paper competition (2008).
Dr. Lan serves as an associate editor for Computational Optimization and Applications (2014-present), Mathematical Programming (2016-present), SIAM Journal on Optimization (2016-present),and Operations Research (2023-present), and Journal of the Operations Research Society of China (2024-present).
